Geh aufs Ganze: the game on television
A clip from the German game show “Geh aufs Ganze” from 1994, the German version of “Let's Make a Deal”: three gates, one car, and the question whether to stick with your choice.
What you will learn
With this clip you see the three-door game as it ran on television, and afterwards you can:
- compare the course of a round on the show with the course of a round in the project
- name which facts of a round you have to write down to analyse it later
The video is loaded from YouTube only when you play it, and YouTube then learns your IP address.
The show “Geh aufs Ganze” was hosted by Jörg Draeger, and the idea is the same as in the American original “Let's Make a Deal”: behind one of three gates waits the main prize, the contestant picks one, and then it gets exciting. The clip starts shortly before that moment. The show is in German, but the game is easy to follow without understanding every word.
While watching, think about what you would have to write down about a round to compare many rounds later: where the prize was, which gate was picked first, which one was opened and what the contestant decided in the end. These are exactly the facts that the three-door game records.
